Unlock the world of birds and their conservation with the 20th edition of the ‘Certificate Course in Basic Ornithology.’ Hosted by the esteemed Ela Foundation, Pune, in collaboration with the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute, Pune, this immersive course has been a beacon of ornithological education for two decades. Over a thousand alumni have already embraced their roles as nature stewards under the guidance of the Ela Foundation.

Course Highlights:

Diverse Curriculum: Dive deep into the fascinating world of birds through over forty interactive multimedia sessions. Explore topics such as the history of ornithology, bird identification, anatomy, physiology, migration, breeding, feeding habits, evolution, ecological roles, and more.

Relevant Discussions: Stay up-to-date with special talks on current issues like bird flu, wind-farms and birds, vulture conservation, secretive owls, house sparrows, and other pressing topics.

Hands-on Experience: Gain practical knowledge with four field visits to various bird habitats. Learn scientific observation techniques directly from experts.

Eminent Instructors: Be inspired by lectures conducted by renowned ornithologists, scientists, and field experts.

Multiple Locations: In addition to Pune, Ela Foundation offers this popular course in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and various parts of Maharashtra.

Schedule:

Lectures: Every Monday and Thursday, from 06:00 PM to 08:30 PM, at the J. N. Tata Hall of Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute, Law College Road, Pune.

Field Visits: Scheduled on Sundays.
